decent.

watch out on your volume levels. Your synth leads's volume aren't consistent.

kick drum has too much low end.

awesome melodies and riffs.

keep it up broski

endKmusic responds:

Hey Seq!
Tried to tie it up as hard as I can but yeah, I agree.
Was kinda hard since there was a lot of stuff / layerz, different synths etc.
Will do.
Thanks for the input! <3

gotta keep stacking layers bro.. hurr hurrrr

Originally was going to vote 4, but the quality of the track is really good. Mix is spot on. I really dig those triplet swing fills you got going on on the downbeat instead of as a 4th bar fill.

you snuck in that tempo change before the break down really well. fantastic.

OOPSIES! your fx at 1:02 peaked/distorted. my ears :( same at 2:29

interesting choice of piano chords at the end.

the only thing I would change myself is your kick and snare. It's too chuncky in my personal taste. Honestly, a more tighter, shorter kick would sound fantastic here.

great dynamic field in this track.

oof. sneaky sneaky key change at 4:01. you aint escaping my ears!

You really put a crap ton of effort on this track and it shows dude. Hopefully we get to battle on the next future rounds!

P.S. put this under miscellaneous or just electronic. A future bass style track isn't really House bro o.O

Onefin responds:

hey bro! thank

as much as i wanted more layers on some things there was a point where my project file got way too big and was like "STOP ADDING MORE STUFF TO ME" and i had to comply

oops i gotta turn that one down

i don't really know how to make shorter kicks and snares stick out from the rest of the mix :( i messed around with them a bit, i'll get there someday, i hope

screw genres this is AMBIENT

I like it. The mix in this sounds a lot better than your other recent tracks.

this song gives a very videogame OST-like vibe.

Your work definitely shows the effort. Trust me dude, its worth it.

0:40 nice lead onto the major harmonic

I love melodic minor stuff. good use of 3rds and 4ths at 1:30

your strings at 1:40 can definitely use a little boost of high frequencies.

ahhh my ears just melted at 2:03

was it the singer's intention to go flat at 2:22?

this track is decent my guy.

etherealwinds responds:

Thanks very much for the comments and advice, I'll bear it in mind :) I'll be coming back to this track and working on it more in the future anyway. I didn't want the frequencies of the dilruba to be too focused on the highs due to the darker atmosphere of the track. I'm the singer btw - I don't mind it too much haha, I didn't use any pitch correction or anything, so I guess it's only natural to find human imperfections on certain parts if you listen closely enough! ;)

Thanks for your review and good luck!

is this 2012?

decent production. do I hear some virtual riot samples?

change up your bass layers on the second drop. it sounds way too copy-pasta from the first one. something in the mix is too compressed and your choir chords don't stick out when they play. whenever I do something like that just cut out all of the low frequencies and anything that is unnecessary for parts like that to shine through.

I really like the breakdown in this track. remember when you work with toms on your fill around 2:55, it's ok to cut parts of the track for it to hit. unless of course, it was your intention to keep it in the background.

after a second listen on your choir fills, I still think there is too much there and your choirs are getting muffled.

needs a bit more reverb on your synths and the sub can be toned down a notch.

I can't stand snare build ups like the one in 1:40 - it's so over used in the EDM scene. you can definitely replace that with something more original.

pretty decent production you got here.

N1NJA-Official responds:

Yeah, you're right. The synths can use more reverb, and the sub's a bit overpowering. Thank you for the feedback!

my guy makin moves in to the hardcore techno scene..

i just want my hearing back pls

I really love the main melody during the last chorus.

I just wish the mix was a bit more louder!

copied from NGADMR1 thread...

if you want a more experienced point of view...

one thing I noticed from that track was the lack of clarity in the mix. all of it is over compressed. remember, EQ > compressor. Only use compressors when absolutely necessary or you know exactly what you are doing.

the generic 0:59 build up needs to go. its so overused I practically click away any song with that build up. its lazy writing.

Your melody/chord progression doesn't make sense to me. The way its written suggest that its there "just because", if that makes sense. Especially the weird bassline at 2:52. Why is it actually going another octave up? What's the point of that?

work on your sound design. your synths sound very weak and plain. None of it really shows your personality/flavor through it.

The random cuts between your arpeggio and that bassline makes no sense at all. I think you're doing that because you want to "add variation". Especially for a "progressive house" track, even though it isn't a progressive house track.

For a progressive house track, you have to be really careful with how you change it up. A progressive track flows in and out over time, there are hardly a lot of cuts.

I understand how you may think your track was your best, but trust me dude. You have huge room for improvement. don't be discouraged. I made generic shit for years

CrisTheGamer responds:

I know you are mostly right, about the track style, I tried to mix Electro and Progressive. Maybe it didn't work as good as I expected...
Anyway, thanks, now I liten to my old tracks and are unenforceable... maybe this one will be the same in a couple of years, so I understand what you want to say.

is this a russian bot?

midimachine responds:
