Hola Mr. Wild, hope the touring and music sales are kickin :D

neato

the break didn't fit well imo

i made a ballad for pixelday yay

fart

definitely unique

watch out on your low end, there are phase issues

Spadezer responds:

Thanks, probably would have never caught the phase issues. Apparently I went too crazy with the number of voices in my synths since I was trying out some different techniques. New version up as of 10/23

careful with the amount of reverb. especially with those impact chords in the beginning.
leading into the first main drop, you have a D sus chord and then a very soft leading Db. what my ear wanted to hear was another impactful Bb major chord with an Ab.

i don't think the rain is necessary and rain and thunder effects are overused and fairly cheesy at this point.

your whitenoise/rain effect thing is too loud in the mix during the main drop. you can also push your sub levels louder more. i would like to hear the nice polyrhythmic harmony more but it gets squashed by the loud flutter chord synths.

the break down is good. again be careful with having too much reverb. especially on those impact drums, it is a good idea to have a dry layer along with the reverb layer wo that it hits harder. the last hit 3:04 needs a sub bass pitch bend. also, the string and synth layer that plays the bridge melody here can be louder in the mix, but again i think this just comes down to having too much reverb. 3:05 snare/impact drums can be louder.

second drop same critique as first. I REALLY wish you expanded on the polyrhythmic melody there. I found that to be the main core of the track rather than the orchestral impacts. lower the flutter synth again as the melody is too quiet in the mix. protip: don't let your breakdown levels peak at same level as your drop. it makes the 2nd drop less impactful if they are. the trick I sometimes do is just high pass low frequencies at 140-150 to leave room for the subs to kick in on the drop. especially if there is a sub bass pitch bend before the drop. (there needs to be one in this track)

so in essence, lower the overall reverb, pump up your subs more, you can add saturation to make it hit heavy on systems that don't have a sub like headphones. the growl bass you have that sits under 200hz because of how wide this track is, needs to be in a mono channel.

last notes of the track I would end the bass on an Ab instead of a Db. since its the end of a cadence, its always best to end on the 5th or 3rd on your scale. Db would be fine if it was leading into another section.

overall this is a pretty neat track. the mix could definitely be worked on more -- tone down the reverb so that its easier to adjust your levels. if I wrote this track, I would have expanded your cool polyrhythmic melody into the breakdown without too big of a pause with those impact chords or the bridge chords. add another polyrhythmic melody in the breakdown, and a guitar solo. you have a lot of good ideas, just got to fine tune them and mix better.

dubstep? jeez what a nerd

this is really clean actually

melodically pleasing

very cool dude.

your high end is peaking a bit with those chord stabs.

larrynachos responds:

I've been making music with my earbuds more lately, cause they're bass boosted and hit sub frequencies better than my usual headphones, but I think it throws everything off lol

really nice. inspired by minecraft music?

AlbeGian responds:

Yep! I tend to take inspiration from several VGM / ambient / minimalist musicians for my more "chill" works. Glad you liked it!

its ok,

i would avoid saying this was "lazily made"

you should try your best every time.

GlaceonDash responds:

No seriously, I made this super lazily.

Especially when compared to my other works.
